Maltodextrin is an easily digestible form of carbohydrate made from various natural sources (e.g. corn, rice, potato and waxy maize) and is thus available in a range of DE values (dextrose equivalent). A lower D.E. value in a maltodextrin equates to a lower G.I. (glycemic index) and yes this lower G.I. material is both a reality and freely available. Pro MR contains low D.E. material. Maltodextrin is the preferred carbohydrate used in energy foods, due to its solubility, low taste profile, and quick absorption.
